Jolie good show!

From the courtroom to the streets of the city, it was lights-camera-action in Chicago in 2007. Angelina Jolie proved she's still the most "Wanted" star in the world, Shia LaBeouf became perhaps the first movie star ever to get into late-night trouble at a Walgreens, we found out the truth behind those "Casino" murders, and we quickly learned that "Rory's First Kiss" involved neither a Rory nor a kiss -- but it did include one scary-looking Joker. And we saw perhaps the least convincing portrayal of a Chicago cop in motion picture history. Let's take a look back at the year in film -- from movie-related news in the Chicago area to the best of what we saw on the big screen in 2007.

"Attention, customers, there's no line at the cosmetics counter -- hey, isn't that the guy from 'Transformers'?" After giving countless interviews in which he vowed not to follow the path of Lindsay and Britney et al., an apparently extra-"cheerful" Shia LaBeouf was arrested at the Walgreens on Michigan and Chicago at 2:30 a.m. on a Saturday night/Sunday morning. LaBeouf was in town filming "Eagle Eye" with Billy Bob Thornton, whose ex-wife was filming a movie of her own in Chicago earlier in the year. (More on that in a moment.) Just think, if LaBeouf had returned to that Michigan Avenue Walgreens a week later, he could have purchased magazines with stories about his adventure at that same store. Or something like that.
